Who Would You Chose?

I have to make a slide show about an interesting person in this beat, and while I contemplated I wondered what kinds of choices everyone else would make about this.
How do you chose who is worthy of a 2 minute long slide show? Do I know anyone that interesting?

Thankfully, I came to a decision, and the person that is worthy of my two minute slide show is Towson student David Blackburn. David is from my home town in Harford County Maryland, and for the past few years David has been lending his talents to helping a whole new generation learn how to swing dance.

Like in my audio story, David is the coordinator of the Friday Night Swing dances at Mt. Zion Christian Church, and I think that the effort he has made, and the talent he has makes him worthy of this two minute slide show.

While looking for recent news about the world of dance I came across this article, and since I have not really covered anything about ballet as of now, I thought it would be a very appropriate article to use for this post.

This story is about the century old Ballet Russes, first debuted in Paris in 1909, it was a contemporary dance that left people speechless.
The story then explains that today, Sergei Diaghilev's productions (legendary in their own time) are bringing back the Russes for Paris in 2009.

I feel that the story is great, though if I could change one thing, I would have added more background information on who Sergei Diaghilev was.

Baby Steps

I find that talking about different kinds of dance is a lot like talking about different kinds of music. There are so many differnet elements, that chosing one as a favorite is almost impossible. I know that for me my favorite kind of dancing is changing constantly.
However, with this blog I plan to share various types of dance with you, and for my first feature story...which will come from this blog...I hope to write a personality profile of my friend David Castro, a local member of a Dance Crew out of Columbia Maryland who is inching his way to the top.
This dance crew is a poppin, lockin' and breakin force that could probably give the give the Jabbawockeez a run for thier money.
So keep reading, and in the meantime if you are interested in learning a little bit more about different dance styles, go ahead and take a look at this link.
